Applying the Paint

I have completed the drawing of the design on the fiberglass horse and have begun the painting process. It is interesting to work on a "canvas" that is not flat and I have noticed that depending upon your viewpoint, the perspective shifts. These undulations of the form create a different kind of challenge, but still nothing that I feel overwhelmed about, it is just interesting to see how it changes as you walk around the horse. I am using acrylic paints and with the relatively smooth surface I can get good coverage, paint thin layers for glazing with transparent paints or apply it thicker with more opaque paints. Glad I am working on a form that has long legs so I can get underneath the beast too!
